Welcome to The Chronicles

This is a blog solely dedicated to my rants and theories and the quest for happiness in  life. Yes, contary to popular belief, I actually like questing. I always thought people who write blogs were incredibly self-centred and delusional to think that other people want to actually read about someone else’s life.

I actually still do.

You will notice several things about this blog:

1) I don’t actually DRINK Starbucks coffee more than twice a week. I do love Starbucks, but I love my hard-earned money more.

2) I wear skinny jeans to work. Because I can.

3) I rant and come up with odd theories on how the world should be. Some of you call it complaining. I call it my blog.

So I hope you enjoy your time here. Feel free to click around on different subjects that might interest you. This blog is work in progress as I have just moved from Blogger and I’m still trying to get settled in WordPress. You can find out more about me on my ‘About Karen’ page.

Happy Reading!

  1. I always thought that about blogging too! & I feel just about the same as you on what i would like my blog to reflect. for some reason though I keep writing about things I think people want to hear about rather than what I i would want to read. I keep reading blogs that I love & it inspires me to just write from my heart & with my personality. You make so many valid point that I agree with in just this little post that I cant wait to read everything else you have 🙂

    • Alejandra,

Thank you so much for your comment. You encourage me to keep this blog going. I feel exactly the same. I find myself always thinking about what people would want to read and then get ahead of myself.
What I always keep telling myself is “write what you know”. It rings so true for me because when you write what you know, you write well.

Goodluck on your blogging endeavors. And hopefully I have made you laugh with some of my posts 🙂

  2. I’m almost finished reading your blog in its entirety, and I’m enjoying it. Thank you for keeping me sane and giving me a good chuckle while I’m bored at work.

    • I really have to thank YOU for keeping me sane. I started this blog as a private personal journal. I only made it public for my close friends. I didn’t realise there would be so many people actually reading and enjoying it!

I cannot believe you have almost read my entire blog! That is the most supreme compliment! Thank you!! 😀
I will continue to entertain you to the best of my abilities lol

  3. I came across your blog through the freshly pressed. Thank goodness. 🙂

Honestly, I love your sense of humour and the way you write. I especially love your nicknames for things.

    Keep up the great work.

  4. Skinny jeans are fine on girlies. You are a girly and that is fine.

Skinny jeans look horrendous on blokes.

Starbucks is fine for blokes and girlies. You are a girly and that is fine.

Starbucks is not really for dogs or cats or those weird monkeys that some people keep on their shoulder.

  5. Hey nice to meet you…nice blog you’ve got going here.
Good to read “your rants and theories”.
I believe that my blog helps me unravel myself by allowing me to express my feelings which otherwise might have been lost with time.

  6. I couldn’t agree more with your stance on ‘Bucks! Because I want to hold on to my bucks, I don’t drink from the ‘Bucks more than once a week. (I don’t have as glamorous a job as you do…but when I do, I’m going up to 2 drinks a week. Yes!) Get rich…spend money on ‘regular’ coffee at home! 🙂

And skinny jeans. I can’t wear them. I’m also a 43 year old guy with a pretty good frame (6′, 185#) and it might hurt to sit down for long periods of time! 😉

    Loving your blog!

    • LOL I don`t know if you could call my job `glamorous` but regardless, I doubt I would be drinking Starbucks everyday even if I was a high roller. It just seems so…wasteful. I discovered a way around that problem though when I got a coffee maker…which obviously only gets filled with Starbucks coffee grinds every morning. Now I can have my coffee AND drink it! 😀

Good life decision on staying away from skinny jeans.

  7. Hi Karen! I just saw your blog (because you were “freshly pressed” hahaha and I had to comment on it! Your writing is amazingly easy going and a treat! I look forward to following your blog since I am also a girl who loves her skinny jeans and starbucks! ❤

  8. I was waiting to subscribe to you and be number 1,000 hoping that there was a prize involved. I was late. Any chance there is a prize and that 5 people can be disqualified?

    • ha…lets just say you are the 1000th subscriber. I have no idea who the 1000th subscriber is, so it might as well be someone I know.
Sadly, there is no prize. I did however stare in shock and happiness at my screen when I saw that I hit 1000. That should be enough of a present for you. And of course, immediate updates of new blog posts.
